Past but Never Forgotten
Tina Michiko Kashiwagi
Tina Kashiwagi is an interdisciplinary artist and educator based in the San Francisco Bay Area. Tina aims to highlight the stories of marginalized folks that are often erased within current and past histories. Often working with members of their own family, they create work inspired by personal and family narratives with a focus on Asian futurism and diaspora.
Using multimedia installation and performance, they are interested in reconnecting with their cultural roots to decolonize and reclaim their queer identity. Tina received their BFA at San Francisco State University in 2016. They are currently an MFA candidate at Stanford University.
